Winter visit, December to February
Indoor pests, found while the house is quiet
Winter is when the inside gets a turn. The visit is slower and calmer: we look at the corners, not the yard.
Silverfish like damp basements and bathrooms. Cluster flies wake in attics on warm winter days. Pantry moths and beetles like old flour. We look in the basement, attic, garage, kitchen and laundry room and check the monitors from fall.
Signs to look for
Small silvery insects in the bathroom or basement
Flies clustered at upstairs windows on sunny days
Tiny moths or beetles near the pantry
Scratching or droppings still showing in the attic

At the visit
What we do, in four steps
- 01
Step 1: Look
We walk the inside with a flashlight: the basement, attic, garage, kitchen and laundry.
- 02
Step 2: Check monitors
We read the monitors we set in fall and tell you what they caught.
- 03
Step 3: Treat
We treat the places where we find activity, and explain why there.
- 04
Step 4: Plan the year
We go over your report and book the spring visit before you leave.

Questions about this visit
Why a visit in the coldest months?
Pests that get in during fall are still inside. Winter is when we can see where they went and check that the seals held.
